Bishop Steven Cottrell elected protector general.
European Province: Martin John elected to life profession; changes in Canterbury; Christopher Martin in charge of "South-East" cluster; Juliana recevied into life profession in CSF; Clark Berge elected guardian of Hilfield Friary.
Bishop Protector General
Bishop Steven Cottrell was elected to be the new Bishop Protector General by the Joint Meeting of First Order Chapters at High Leigh in September.
European Province
At the Francistide SSF Provincial Chapter Martin John was elected to Life Profession. God willing, he will take his Life Vows at Glasshampton on Friday 20th October at 12.30 p.m.
The brothers in Canterbury have now moved out of the Master’s Lodge, which is no longer an SSF house.
Austin has moved to 134 Wincheap, Canterbury, CT1 3RY; James Douglas has moved to 85 Crofton Road, Plaistow; Micael Christoffer moves to Alnmouth Friary on 16th October, until then staying at 134 Wincheap; Kevin has moved into one of the Eastbridge alms-houses until summer 2018. Christopher Martin has been appointed the ‘Brother in Charge’ of the South-East Cluster of SSF houses and individuals.
Samuel leaves Hilfield Friary on 9th October, on his way to Plaistow; Finnian has moved to Leeds; Philip Bartholomew has moved to Alnmouth Friary; John will be moving to 113 Gillott Road, Birmingham on 23rd October.
Juliana was received into CSF as a Sister in life vows, on Friday 29th September, during a Eucharist in the sisters' chapel at Il-Seon-Ri at which Bishop Onesimus presided. Bishop Moses of Daejeon, who has "held" Juliana's vows during her period of discernment with CSF will also take part in the ceremony, as will Helen Julian whose visit to Korea was planned to include this joyful occasion.
Election of Guardian of Hilfield Friary. Having expressed his willingness to be considered for this post, the SSF Ministers’ Meeting 2017 approved the inter-provincial move of Clark Berge to the European Province, for a period of three years. The brothers at Hilfield supported his election as Guardian. The Francistide SSF Provincial Chapter elected Clark Berge to be Guardian of the Hilfield Friary Community, to begin on 1st January 2018.
