European Province
Sr Elizabeth: Diamond Jubilee of Profession will be celebrated on Saturday 9th December at St Mary’s Church Plaistow, E13 9BQ, with a Eucharist at 12 noon, followed by lunch.
Benedict writes:
We have now moved from S. Anthony’s in Byker and I was able to attend the final Eucharist and party Wednesday evening 15th November. We have much to thank God for the time and the ministry we were able to carry out in that part of Newcastle and I think just being there was a tremendous boost to the local Church: Edmund, Eric Michael and Robert have now moved to Gillott Road and together with John we start a new life and begin a new ministry in the Second City. I have received a very warm letter of welcome from the Bishop of Birmingham.
Austin writes:
No. 134 Wincheap was given a formal blessing by Bishop Trevor on 27th November. A happy occasion when garden and all rooms (including the smallest) were blessed in a short but meaningful ceremony. Typically, food and drink (tea) followed. Kevin and Micael and Margaret, Trevor’s wife made up the company. I expect that the majority of the works indicated by the surveyor will be completed before winter. Now I will be able to settle into a new rhythm which will develop as time passes.
Province of the Americas
Pamela Clare writes:
“Our beloved Sr. Cecilia, CSF, died on November 18, at the age of 97 and in the 50th year of her Profession of Vows as a Franciscan. She was the former Minister General, former Minister Provincial of CSF American Province, and leader of the group of sisters who came to San Francisco from England in 1974. She was a musician (piano and organ), composer, poet, teacher, administrative helper in the chaplain's office at St. Luke's Hospital, soup preparer for hungry people at Martin de Porres House of Hospitality, and eternally, beloved child of God.”
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
Funeral arrangements are not yet finalised.
